Rules and Guidelines

  • The story must have a 'green' or environmentally friendly theme.
  • Teen submissions should be no more than 1,500 words and each submission written in the third person point of view.
  • You must be aged 13 to 17 to enter the Teen Green Story.
  • There is no specific genre limitation, however, inappropriate content will not be displayed on the site and The Green Story reserve the right to amend or remove any content for whatever reason they consider the material to be unsuitable.
  • Any individual can submit the next chapter of the book as long as they leave the end of the chapter open so that the next person may then add their work.
  • Each submission has to be by the original author, and cannot be a duplication of another person's work. Also, each piece of work has to be original and not previously published.
Back
  • There will be a three-week period to submit the next chapter after the previous winning chapter is put up on the site. After three weeks of submissions, entries will not be accepted for that chapter, viewers will then be able to vote for their favourite entry for inclusion in the book.
  • Each winning submission will be included as the next chapter of the book, and each author will have their name placed at the beginning of the chapter. This will continue until the end of the competition.
  • The overall title of the book will not be put live on the site until publication and will then be fully edited to ensure smooth transitions from chapter to chapter (see Terms and Conditions of Entry for further reference).
  • All profits go towards The Woodland Trust.
  • In addition to announcing the winning chapter online, we will also announce the results via our free newsletter.
  • Entrants must agree to the terms and conditions of entry before submitting their work.
  • Please see Terms and Conditions for further reference.
